The most expensive foldable smartphone ever is also the best ever. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 marks a slight but substantial improvement over the past. The folding model is now thinner and lighter. Its generative artificial intelligence applications are more in focus and compared to the competition, the two screens enable new features that others do not have, making it an unrivalled productivity tool. The Korean engineers haven't changed anything, everything is slightly better on the design side. And when you hold it in your hand you can feel it because with the passage of time this 'experiment' is finding a balance. The price is over 2000 euros, but watch out for promotions because you will find it under this 'psychological' threshold, which makes it an object for the few.
Our test.
Compared to the previous model, it is stronger, lower and wider with a larger external display. The main screen is 7.6 inches, it is brighter and the power is that of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Then again, it has a new dual-rail hinge, which is stronger and thinner, and for the first time it has obtained an official IP48 water and dust resistance rating. On the design side, it has become more manageable, almost like a normal smartphone but with superpowers. Samsung believes in foldables, it practically invented them. The Fold then is its pet project because it should become what the Samsung Note was in the past: a unique, advanced object for true connoisseurs.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is not a fashionable 'foldable' like the Flip. We tested it for a few weeks and it won the productivity challenge. This is due to the AI features, which we have already mentioned, that have been improved and optimised for foldable devices. This makes it something different and useful for professionals and managers who want to work on the move without ever disconnecting.
What we didn't like.
It is a cameraphone but not a top-of-the-range one, it costs more than the previous model and the battery is only slightly better. It means the smartphone never leaves you stranded, but we did not appreciate the fast charging. And here we come to the price. For the 12/256GB version we read in the press release 2,099 euros going up. But as said, it is a price that must be measured against the important promotions put on the ground that are also worth savings of several hundred euros.
