School contract: pay rises and back pay due in August
The 2025–27 National Collective Labour Agreement is now in force: the pay rise for teachers is 143 euros, and 107 euros for ATA staff, in addition to back pay amounting to 855 euros for teachers and 633 euros for ATA staff.
“NoiPA will apply the pay scale adjustments provided for in the National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for the Education and Research sector – covering the period 2025–2027 and signed on 1 July at ARAN – to the August payslip.” This was announced by NoiPa, which thus confirms that pay rises and back pay will be included in the payslips of the 1.2 million employees in the vast Education and Research sector by the end of the summer.
The increases
Specifically, for schools, we are talking about 143 euros for teachers and 107 euros for ATA staff, in addition to arrears amounting to 855 euros for teachers and 633 euros for ATA staff. The National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) covers the main aspects of the remuneration of teachers, ATA staff (administrative, technical and auxiliary) in schools, researchers, technologists, lecturers/CELs, technicians and administrative staff in the research sector and in higher education in the arts and music (AFAM), totalling approximately one million two hundred thousand employees.
Back issues are also on their way
A special payment, due by the end of August 2026, will also be made to settle the arrears due for the years 2025 and 2026, including the July 2026 instalment, net of the Contractual Holiday Allowance (IVC) already paid from 1 April 2025.
Other news
As provided for in the National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL), with effect from 1 January 2027, the additional allowances that make up the monthly salary will be updated. For school teaching staff, these comprise the teachers’ professional remuneration, the management allowance (fixed component) and the individual supplementary allowance (CIA). For AFAM staff, the allowances concerned are the professional remuneration for teachers, the professional remuneration for researchers, the remuneration allowance (fixed part) and the individual supplementary allowance (CIA). For staff at research institutions, they are the position allowance and the professional development allowance.
As set out in Article 7 of the National Collective Labour Agreement, ATA staff will receive a one-off payment of 110 euros gross in January 2027.
