From Mad, i.e. the old informal applications to be made available in order to be called by the school for a substitution, to the new system of interpellations introduced by Ministerial Order No 88 of 2024, managed by the schools, which has the same purpose of getting a teacher on the teaching staff. This is the new method of recruiting teachers that is making its debut these days, and which is affecting dozens and dozens of aspiring teachers. They will have to read on the websites of the school offices or individual schools the requests for substitutes that are gradually being published, and then respond within the timeframe indicated in the notices.

The new interpello system

On the basis of the above-mentioned ministerial order, in the event of school rankings being exhausted, schools can publish specific notices on their institutional website aimed at recruiting teachers who have the qualification - for support posts, the relevant specialisation for teaching disabled pupils - or, alternatively, the qualification (suitable for that teaching). Copies of the notices are sent to the competent school office, which will publish them on its website in a special section.

What the interpellations provide for

These notices, which are multiplying on school websites, contain specific details on available posts, allowing aspiring teachers to apply immediately, without the need to send spontaneous applications. In fact, interested parties will be able to respond directly to the notices. For each class of competition/type of post, the relevant notice must contain certain essential elements, such as an indication of the starting date of the substitution, the duration, the total weekly timetable and the place of employment; an indication of the necessary access qualifications; and the procedures and deadlines for submitting applications.

The stakes

.

According to ministerial rules, those who have already been identified as recipients of fixed-term contracts are not allowed to participate in the procedure. Any fixed-term contracts concluded through the call for applications procedure are subject to all the constraints provided for by the regulations in force for substitutions.
