(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - SeTI, Servizi e Terziario Innovativo, a product group of Unione Industriali Torino, on the occasion of its 40th anniversary changes name and becomes Innovation Services Industry. A metamorphosis announced at the SeTI, 40 years of Future celebration event, which took place as part of the broader celebrations for Turin Capital of Enterprise Culture 2024. The name change represents a strategic choice to adapt the group's identity to the growing global and technological dimension that characterises the business services sector. In fact, the new name reflects a vision aimed at the future and internationalisation; the choice of English makes the group more current and recognisable even beyond national borders in a global context, as confirmed by the president of Innovation Services Industry Maurizio Bazzano. "We want to show that we are ready to play a leading role in bringing innovation to companies, through services based on knowledge and intangible competences, such as soft skills, which are today the key to competing on an international scale," the chairman emphasised.
Since 1984 a piece of local history
Founded in 1984 as Gruppo Servizi e Terziario Avanzato (Services and Advanced Tertiary Sector Group), SeTI has accompanied Piedmontese companies through significant economic, industrial and technological changes for four decades. The group has always represented a point of reference for companies in the area, offering support and services geared towards development and competitiveness. The evolution of the name is symbolic of the path taken so far: in 1996, in order to better express externally the specificity of the membership, the Group took the name SeTI (Servizi e Terziario Innovativo) and in 2024, on the occasion of its 40th anniversary, the name Innovation Services Industry. The Group has never merely followed changes, but has sought to anticipate and promote them, acting as anactive promoter of innovation.
With its new name, Innovation Services Industry aims not only to support its member companies, but also to play a leading role in thedigital and technological transformation of the service sector, offering companies tools and skills to tackle new challenges such as artificial intelligence, digitisation and the globalisation of markets. "We are not content to adapt to change," emphasises President Bazzano, "we want to be the protagonists of the change itself. This means fully exploiting the potential offered by emerging technologies, such as AI, to help companies grow and compete in an increasingly complex and global market'. With the rebranding, Innovation Services Industry therefore looks to a future of growth and change, confirming itself as a key partner for companies wishing to remain competitive in an ever-changing market.
Sector numbers
.To date, the Group has 322 member and affiliated companies, with a total of 6,357 employees and a weight of 15% in terms of companies. This is a fundamental contribution to a sector, the tertiary sector in fact, which in Turin recorded an increase in value between 2023 and 2024 of 4.5% to EUR 57.5 billion.
Collaborations and synergies
The service sector is essential to ensure the full development of other sectors, starting with tourism. "Over the last 20 years, Turin has made great strides in the area of services. For the future, the synergy and mutual support between tourism and services will certainly continue. What awaits us in the future will be the growth of even more innovative services,' emphasised Stefano Cornaglia, President of Tourism and Culture. There are also many synergies between the tertiary sector and the health sector, for example through the silver economy: "I believe it is necessary to change the paradigm and not look at the negative aspects of old age, but at the opportunities," specified Elena Zara, President of Health. The exercise, according to Zara, should be to move along four verticals: health, wellbeing, mobility - and therefore transport, which is linked to the service sector - which is essential to combat loneliness and isolation, and prevention.
