Internal choice for the direction of Sky TG24 that changes after the promotion of Giuseppe De Bellis, current director, to the role of Executive Vice President Sport, News and Entertainment. Sky has announced the appointment of Fabio Vitale as the new Director of Sky TG24. He will lead the all news title from 15 September next, reporting directly to De Bellis, who is now at the helm of the new Directorate, which brings together Sky's entire range of pay and free content under one roof.
Fabio Vitale, until now head of the Central Office, arrives at the head of Sky TG24 after a twenty-year-long journalistic career, Sky writes, 'marked by constant growth and a profound knowledge of the newspaper for which he has worked in key and diverse roles'.
Thirty-nine years old, born in Catania, 'he took his first steps in journalism at a very young age, collaborating,' adds the Sky press release, 'with local daily and weekly sports newspapers and then moved on to Giornale di Sicilia, where he dealt with crime and judicial news. In 2007, he joined Sky TG24, initially as a correspondent in Sicily, immediately distinguishing himself for his competence and versatility. His growth in the newspaper is rapid: after an experience as coordinator of the news editions, in 2010 he starts to lead the morning editions, becoming one of the most familiar faces of the daily news.
