SpaceX and Google sign maxi deal for cloud services
SpaceX announced that it has entered into a multi-year cloud services agreement with Alphabet's Google, thus securing computing capacity ahead of the awaited US stock exchange listing next week.
Under the agreement, Google will pay SpaceX $920 million per month from October this year to June 2029, with a gradual increase in capacity at a reduced rate until September, Elon Musk's space company stated in a document filed with the US SEC.
The deal brings SpaceX another high-profile customer, following Anthropic, reinforcing its strategy in the field of artificial intelligence ahead of its upcoming initial public offering (IPO) that aims to raise $75 billion.
The computing capacity provided includes about 110,000 Nvidia Gpu, Cpu, memory and other related components.
If SpaceX does not provide access to the agreed number of Gpu's by 30 September, after a one-month grace period, 'Google may either immediately terminate the agreement or accept the number of Gpu's provided, with a corresponding proportional reduction in monthly fees,' the company said.
