Syracuse: failure to pay withholding tax – assets worth over 700,000 euros seized
Officers from the Syracuse Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza have executed a preventive seizure order, issued by the investigating magistrate in Syracuse at the request of the public prosecutor’s office, for a total value of over 700,000 euros.
The investigations began with enquiries into the legal representative of a company operating in the air-conditioning sector, with its registered office in Avola and business premises in the province of Modena.
During the 2022 tax year, the man is alleged to have failed to pay the tax deductions withheld from employees into the state coffers.
To safeguard the State’s claim, the investigating judge has ordered the preventive seizure, with a view to the confiscation, of assets worth over 700,000 euros from the company and its legal representative.
In particular, sums were seized from the current accounts and financial products held in the name of the company and the suspect, totalling approximately 214,000 euros, three flats located in Rome and Grottaferrata and a sports car owned by the suspect.
