However, as of November 2021, a European directive for electronic toll systems has also brought other operators onto the scene, both to fluidify payments at toll stations through the interoperability of the various systems and to bring about a reduction in costs, thanks to free competition. The offers of the various operators differ not only in terms of cost but in some cases also in terms of standard or connectable services.

The increase in the fee is combined with a redefinition of the contractual offer since, as mentioned, the Family plan is transformed into the Base plan, allowing two number plates to be combined and offering five additional services: Area C Milan, the Stretto di Messina ferry, subsidised parking, blue lines and electronic 'vignettes'. In addition, the Plus plan is launched, costing EUR 3.90 per month until December 2025 and then EUR 4.90, which includes twenty-five services including discounts, payment for recharging plug-in and electric cars, Skipass and tickets for public transport. Then comes the Pay per Use service with an activation fee of 10 euros and 1 euro per day of use.
