World No. 1 Iga Swiatek won the Internazionali Bnl d'Italia. She beat Wta No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka in the final in two sets with a score of 6-2, 6-3. For the Polish tennis player this is her third success on Roman clay after her victories in 2021 and 2022. On the men's side, however, it will be tomorrow's final between Alexander Zverev and Nicolas Jarry . In the second semi-final last night, Friday 17 May, the Chilean beat the American Tommy Paul in three sets, 6-3, 6-7 6-3 after more than 2 hours and 44 minutes of play and will challenge the German for the title on Sunday 19 May. If for the Italians Bolelli and Vavassori there will be no final (stopped in the semifinals on Saturday 18 May in 2 sets by Arevalo and Pavic), the Italian tennis girls are in the finals in the doubles with Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini who will take on Coco Gauff and Erin Routliffe on Sunday 19 May.
Bettors' Predictions
.It will be Alexander Zverev versus Nicolas Jarry in the men's final of the Internazionali d'Italia 2024, an unexpected last act with a clear favourite, Zverev, already champion in Rome seven years ago. For the experts at Planetwin365 and Snai, the German's 1.32 hit is played against the Chilean's 3.30 to 3.40 victory. The two tennis players are coming from two gruelling semi-finals, both of which ended in the third set - like the last direct clash in Beijing - but a two-set match prevails at 1.44, with the 2-0 Zverev clearly ahead at 1.80 on William Hill over the South American's two-set victory, which is set at six times the stakes.
Italians stop in the semifinals of the doubles
.Meanwhile, no Italian final in the men's doubles. Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori were stopped in the semifinals in two sets by the mixed pair of Salvadoran Marcelo Arevalo and Croatian Mate Pavic in an hour and 23 minutes of play, with a score of 6-2 7-6 (7-5).
