Decree signed to promote wine tourism
The measure signed by Minister Lollobrigida implements the provisions of the EU’s wine CMO package at national level
“With this decree, we are taking another step forward in strengthening the reputation of Italian wine and the growth of our regions, by bolstering consortia, producers’ organisations and inter-professional bodies to raise awareness of the places where these exceptional wines are produced and the uniqueness of our wine-growing heritage.” Thus, the Minister for Agriculture, Francesco Lollobrigida, announced that he had signed the decree for the promotion of wine tourism.
“This measure,” the minister emphasises, “is the direct result of the work carried out by Italia at European level with the aim of strengthening the competitiveness of this strategic sector of ‘Made in Italy’.”
The measure, which implements at national level the reform of the wine scheme under the Common Agricultural Policy, the so-called ‘wine package’, aims to support initiatives designed to raise awareness of and enhance the reputation of vineyards by promoting wine tourism and linking the quality of the wines to the excellence of Italy’s regions.
The beneficiaries of the scheme are the protection consortia, producers’ organisations and inter-branch organisations, for initiatives to promote the local area, such as events, meetings, visits and other promotional activities. Applications for aid may be submitted by 30 October each year, in accordance with the procedures established by Agea in consultation with the Regions. For the 2026–2027 period, the deadline is set at 15 December 2026.
