La Scala Philharmonic returns on tour to Asia
From 17 to 28 September 2025, under the direction of Myung-Whun Chung, it will be first in South Korea and then in Japan

The La Scala Philharmonic returns on tour seventeen years after its last appearance in 2008. The programme commits it from 17 to 28 September 2025 under the baton of Myung-Whun Chung, emeritus conductor of the Philharmonic since 2023 and music director designate of La Scala Theatre since 2027, accompanied by pianists Nikolaj Luganskij and Mao Fujita. Eight concerts are scheduled: first in South Korea with a concert in the capital Seoul (17 September) and then in Busan (18 September). There is great anticipation for the return to Japan with the first date in Sapporo (20 September), followed by concerts at Tokyo's Suntory Hall (22 and 24 September), Yokohama's Mirai Hall (23 September), Nagoya's Aichi Art Theater (26 September) and the last in Osaka (27 September), the twinned city with Milan that will host Expo 2025 until 13 October.
On the programme are Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 Patetica and the overture from Verdi's La forza del destino. Nikolaj Luganskij in Korea and Mao Fujita in Japan will perform Rachmaninov's Concert No. 2 in C minor op. 18.
