The trial of Toti, Spinelli and Signorini will start on 5 November 2024

The trial against Giovanni Toti, the former governor accused of corruption and illegal financing, will start on 5 November. This was decided by gip Paola Faggioni, who accepted the prosecution's request for immediate trial. Aldo Spinelli, a port entrepreneur, and Paolo Emilio Signorini, former president of the Port Authority, will also go on trial with Toti. The first panel of the first section will deal with them. The defence will have to decide whether to choose abridged or plea bargaining or the ordinary rite. Toti's and Spinelli's lawyers have already said they want the ordinary rite, while Signorini's defenders are considering it.
