Cavallino Bianco, the famous 5-star family hotel from Ortisei is about to land in Caorle, a few kilometres from Venice. It will be a 5-star luxury resort overlooking the beach, will have 101 suites and the inauguration date is set for May 2026.

"The first idea was born in 2006 and my dream was to replicate the structure and services offered by the resort in Ortisei by the sea, thus responding to a growing demand from customers," says Ralph Riffeser, sole director and general manager of the Cavallino Bianco in Ortisei since 1993. I looked for a suitable structure along the coasts of the peninsula and 15 years ago I saw an old colony in Caorle, a small town that can be reached by car and just a few kilometres from the intercontinental airport in Venice".

Realising the resort required an investment of more than 100 million, "I will neither confirm nor deny," says the CEO, and is aimed at a wealthy Italian clientele to which guests from all over the world will be added thanks to its proximity to Venice airport. "We expect arrivals from North America, all of Europe, and the Gulf region," explains Riffeser, "with a guest mix that should not fall below 50 per cent Italian clientele so as not to lose the atmosphere of Italian holiday hospitality. Here, shared time becomes true luxury. Every space is designed to stimulate authentic connection between parents and children, between relaxation and play, in an elegant, safe and harmonious environment.

In addition to its positioning in the luxury segment, the resort will offer several pluses over what the region has to offer, starting with an opening period of at least 10 months. The suites are between 46 and 118 square metres with terraces overlooking or facing the sea, separate spaces for adults and children, two bathrooms, one is baby-friendly, and smart equipment. The resort will have exclusive services such as a covered garage with 170 parking spaces, a boutique, a bike hub for exploring the area and 'work on holiday' spaces. The private beach concession, Caorle is Blue Flag, is 5 hectares, with cabanas nestled among greened dunes. The resort also has a 4,000 square metre wellness centre with heated swimming pools, saunas, beauty farm and an adults-only rooftop spa with Infinity sky pool.

For toddlers and teenagers there is a 750 square metre area for indoor and outdoor activities with workshops, educational games, theatre, an indoor hall for ball games, a space with interactive areas and a restaurant for them. There are two more themed restaurants: a family restaurant and the Marco Polo, for adults only. Added to this are lounge bars and breakfast terraces. Direct employment in the facility will be at least 180. Ralph Riffeser makes no secret of his satisfaction as he points out 'such a hotel does not yet exist on the Italian coast'.

The Cavallino Bianco Val Gardena - Dolomites in Ortisei - was born from Riffeser's vision between 2001 and 2005 and has been recognised several times as the best family hotel in the world by booking platforms such as TripAdvisor and by important industry publications. The new resort in Caorle represents its evolution: a destination that aims to elevate the Italian seaside offer and strengthen the mountain-sea duality with experiential synergies. Bookings are available now and include early booking formulas.

Caorle is only the second stage in the run of the Cavallino Bianco Family Spa Grand Hotel in Ortisei, a family hotel model that other hoteliers are trying to copy, to replicate in other destinations.

Riffeser is also the owner of a plot of land on Lake Garda, in Sirmione, which in the plans was intended to accommodate another Cavallino Bianco resort, an initiative that was then stopped for years by bureaucracy.

"There is a desire to open a Cavallino Bianco on Lake Garda and perhaps another resort in a destination with a strong attraction such as a city of art, a spa or in a prestigious location," concludes the CEO. "In Caorle we had the support of the local administration and we hope to be able to show the potential and economic spin-offs in the area that has a five-star hotel in Sirmione as well, thus making up for the opportunity lost at the time.
