Two Italian restaurants open the list of positions 51-100 of The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2024, the ranking of the world's best restaurants of the year that will be announced in its entirety on 5 June in Las Vegas. They are the two three-starred Le Calandre in Rubano (Padua) of the brothers Massimiliano and Raffaele Alajmo, which came in at number 51 - and the highest new entry on the 51-100 list: the Atelier Moessmer Norbert Niederkofler in Brunico, at number 52. .
Alajmo has actually dropped out of the 'top 50' after almost 20 years and 41st place in 2023, but he had also reached tenth place. Bartolini with Mudec is not in the rankings after last year's 85th place: the fans of the Italian fine dinig obviously in this case hope it is a good sign in view of the first part of the ranking.
The 51-100 list includes restaurants from all continents and was drawn up thanks to the votes of 1,080 experts selected for the event sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna. In the new haute cuisine map, waiting to know the top positions, Europe shines, from which 23 restaurants come, 13 come from Asia, 6 from North America, 5 from South America, one from the Middle East, one from Africa and one from Oceania.
The Old Continent conquers six new positions in the ranking: besides Niederkofler; Coda (62nd position) in Berlin; Bozar (63) in Brussels; Le Doyenné (70) in Saint-Vrain; Restaurant Jan (84) in Munich and Mountain (No.94) in London. France leads with four other restaurants: Flocons de Sel (76) in Megève; La Grenouillère (77) in La Madelaine-sous-Montreuil; Alléno Paris Au Pavillon Ledoyen (79) in Paris and Ceto (85) in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin.
