Bologna reached. The ascent planned for the fourth day of the 1000 Miglia 2024 took the competitors from Rome to Bologna, passing through cities of timeless charm such as Siena and Prato. But also along roads envied all over the world, among them the Futa and Raticosa passes, which made it possible to pass from Tuscany to Emilia Romagna. Amazing the cheering on the two passes that accompanied the crews, truly one of the most unexpected and appreciated moments of this edition so far.

This is the face of an Italy seen and perceived only during the Milla Miglia, uniting men and women, children and the elderly, all smiling to see the cars pass by, cheering and waving the famous 1000 Miglia flags. The fourth was also the most demanding stage of this edition, with its almost 600 kilometres in central Italy.

Adding to the difficulty was the weather, which provided a blazing sun that made the temperature reach 30 degrees. The Tuscan landscapes provided the backdrop to this stage, offering enchanting views that were certainly also appreciated by the foreign crews. Always marvellous and unique was the passage through the city of Siena, which welcomed the crews in Piazza del Campo, whose majesty embraced the cars as they passed on carpets depicting the Italian tricolour.

For the fourth leg of the 1000 Miglia, we made a (scheduled) car swap into the 585 hp German bolide. The first thing that strikes you is the space on board: driver and passenger have plenty of room and the width of the car allows plenty of room between the two seats. The 2+2-seater formula is perfect for those with small children or, again, those who want plenty of room in a Grand Tourer. It is a unique formula that combines on-board space with an almost racing-like power that gives you that feeling of squashing your back against the seat that is so coveted by sports cars. Moreover, despite its length, the car is manoeuvrable thanks to the steering rear axle, active up to a speed of 100 km/h. Tomorrow the last stage will take the crews to the finish in Brescia, from where this 1000 Miglia started.
