At the Strade Bianche the fourth triumph for Pogacar, nobody like him
The Slovenian world champion is the first rider to win the classic four times on Tuscan soil
The cycling season opened again as the previous one had closed. Tadej Pogacar (Uae Emirates) triumphed in the 2026 edition of the Strade Bianche, arriving alone at the finish line in Piazza del Campo. The Slovenian world champion is the first rider to win the classic race on Tuscan soil four times. In seven of his participations, the first in 2019, he won in 2022 and then three times in a row from 2024 to the present.
Pogacar covered the 202 kilometres of the course, which starts in Siena and returns to the city - with 33 kilometres of dirt road divided into eleven sectors - in a time of 4:44:15, having pulled away from everyone about eighty kilometres from the finish. Second place, with a one-minute gap, was taken by 19-year-old Frenchman Paul Seixas, the third by Mexican Isaac Del Toro.
At Piazza del Campo, having crossed the finish line, Pogacar stopped, got out of the saddle, raised his arms to the sky and greeted the crowd with a bow. For him, a poker at the Strade Bianche that is worth yet another record.
