Toyota Rav4, the sixth generation road test. And there is also the super plug-in with 130 km range
Updated technology, design and engines characterise the Japanese high-wheeler model after more than 30 years of history.
The new Toyota RAV4 ushers in a new phase for one of the most iconic models in Toyota's range, setting a benchmark in the SUV segment. Born in 1994 as the pioneer of compact high-wheel models, the RAV4 revolutionised the way of conceiving the car, combining versatility, comfort and off-road capabilities. In over thirty years it has sold more than 15 million units worldwide, with a strong presence also in Europe, where it has reached over 2.5 million units, becoming the brand's most popular SUV. The sixth generation takes up this legacy and projects it into the future, with a mix of technological innovation and adventure spirit.
Stronger design and greater comfort
The new generation comes with a completely revised design, expressing an even stronger and more recognisable personality. The three-dimensional 'hammer head' front end, slimmer LED light clusters and sculpted body surfaces help to reinforce the model's robust and modern image. The proportions, designed to maintain practicality even in the urban environment, combine with details such as up to 20-inch wheels and new colour schemes to create a dynamic, contemporary look. The passenger compartment has also been thoroughly updated: the more linear and horizontal layout improves ergonomics, while quality materials and work on soundproofing and vibrations ensure superior comfort, whether on daily commutes or longer journeys.
Evolved technology and connectivity
One of the main new elements is the introduction of the Arene software platform, which opens up a new generation of software-defined vehicles. The multimedia system has been completely overhauled, making it faster, more intuitive and more connected, thanks also to integration with advanced services and technology partners such as Google and Spotify. The new digital ecosystem offers over-the-air updates, advanced voice assistant and customisable features, enhancing the on-board experience. In parallel, safety takes a further leap forward with the latest evolution of Toyota Safety Sense, which introduces more comprehensive, responsive driver assistance systems designed to reduce stress behind the wheel and increase protection in all situations.
