Train strike on 7 and 8 September: timetables and guaranteed services

There is a risk of delays and cancellations on rail services from this evening until Tuesday due to the 24-hour national strike called by several independent trade unions.

The strike will begin at 9.18 pm this evening, Monday 7 September, and will end at 9.00 pm tomorrow, Tuesday 8 September, with possible disruption to Regional, Intercity and High-Speed trains.

 For Trenitalia’s regional services, essential services will be guaranteed on weekdays between 6.00 and 9.00 and between 18.00 and 21.00. The strike will not affect local public transport.

Passengers wishing to cancel their journey may request a refund from the time the strike is announced until the departure time of their booked train for Intercity and Frecce services, and until midnight on the day before the strike for Regional trains. Trenitalia also notes that changes to the service may occur both before the strike begins and after it ends.
