Transport strike, what's happening in Milan today
From 8.45 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to the end of the service there is a risk of slowdowns and delays for the Atm, but at the moment the metro runs
The first stage of the public transport strike called for today by the Al Cobas union began at 8.45am. The Atm, the Milan Transport Company, has announced that 'all lines are in service'. The abstention from work is scheduled from 8.45am to 3pm and from 6pm until the end of service. According to Atm's forecast there could be slowdowns and delays on the surface due to the bad weather, but 'trams, buses and trolleybuses are in service' and the subways 'circulate regularly'.
The strike was proclaimed 'against the liberalisation, privatisation, financialisation and tendering of the services currently managed by the Atm Group and for the "re-internalisation" of the contracted and/or sub-contracted tpl services, including complementary services, in Milan and the hinterland' and for a number of other reasons.
