Venezuela: new US attack on boat in Pacific Ocean, 2 dead. Trump confirms: narco cargo pier destroyed
This is the first US attack inside Venezuela since Trump started his pressure campaign against Nicolas Maduro.
The US military says it conducted another attack against a vessel accused of drug smuggling in the eastern Pacific Ocean, killing two people. The attack, announced Monday by the US Southern Command on social media, brings the total number of known naval attacks to 30 and the number of people killed to at least 107 since the beginning of September.
Parallel to the attacks, the Trump administration has reinforced military forces in the region as part of a growing campaign of pressure against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. Asked on Monday about 'an explosion in Venezuela', President Donald Trump said the US had 'struck' a pier along a coastline where boats accused of transporting drugs 'load up'.

The US struck a 'large facility' in Venezuela last week as part of its campaign against drug trafficking. Donald Trump said this in a radio interview on Friday with Wac, the radio station owned by Trump supporter John Catsimatidis. "They had a big plant where the ships came from" with drugs but "we hit it, and hit it very hard," the US president explained.

"They have a big installation from where the boats leave. Two nights ago we destroyed it,' the US president said in response to a question about the massive naval campaign launched to counter the shipment of drugs from Venezuela. Trump then described the operation as a 'hard blow' without, however, providing further details on the location of the infrastructure.
