Trump: 'Hamas respects disarmament commitment'. From Board of Peace states $5bn in aid for Gaza

"Hamas must fulfil its commitment to complete and immediate demilitarisation". This was written by US President Donald Trump in a post on his own social network Truth focusing on the Board of Peace, a body that according to the president has "unlimited potential", has a goal that goes "far beyond Gaza: world peace!" and "will prove to be the most important international body in history".

Tracing its inception, from the presentation of the peace plan for Gaza adopted by the UN in October 2025 to the founding of the body at the Davos Forum last January, Trump anticipates that on Thursday 19 February members of the Board of Peace will meet "at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C.," "where we will announce that member states have pledged over $5 billion for humanitarian and reconstruction efforts in Gaza, and have committed thousands of personnel to the International Stabilization Force and local police to maintain security and peace for Gazawians."

"The Board of Peace has unlimited potential. Last October I published a plan to bring a definitive end to the conflict in Gaza, and our vision was unanimously adopted by the UN Security Council. Shortly thereafter, we facilitated humanitarian aid at a record speed and secured the release of all hostages alive and dead.
