Trump postpones furniture tariffs increase by a year

Donald Trump postponed new tariff increases on upholstered furniture, kitchen furniture and bathroom furniture by one year, delaying their implementation until 2027. The president signed the measure just hours before the end of 2025, postponing the tariff increases on these items, which were originally due to come into effect today. In September, Trump had imposed new tariffs of 25% on kitchen furniture and upholstered furniture. These tariffs took effect in October, with rates that were to increase to 50% and 30% respectively by 2026.
