Trump reduces tariffs on some processed metals to 15 per cent
The cut-off applies to certain industrial equipment and power grids with a high concentration of metal
The White House has announced that President Donald Trump will revise national security tariffs on steel, aluminium and copper, applying a 15 per cent tariff on certain industrial equipment and metal-intensive power grids until 2027, compared to the previously planned 50 per cent.
The White House said in a statement that the tariff reduction was designed to help the 'massive industrial expansion taking place in the United States. It also states that products manufactured abroad but made entirely from US steel, aluminium or copper will be subject to 10% import tariffs.
