“To mark the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America, the French President, Emmanuel Macron, will host the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, on Wednesday 17 June 2026 for a dinner at the Palace of Versailles, a symbol of Franco-American friendship where, in 1783, the treaty establishing the independence of the United States was signed”: according to sources at the Élysée Palace.
The Evian summit will also be attended by the President of the European Council, António Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. Hosted by France in its capacity as the current G7 presidency, the summit will bring together the leaders of the G7 countries, as well as the European Union and other invited countries, to discuss pressing global issues, including international peace and security, multilateralism and the global economic outlook.
“In an era of geopolitical uncertainty and macroeconomic imbalances, G7 unity and effective multilateralism are essential to strengthening global stability, promoting sustainable growth and addressing common challenges. The Évian summit will provide an opportunity to advance these priorities through constructive dialogue and action, including support for Ukraine and ensuring balanced global growth,” says Costa.
