Trump sets 4 July as deadline for EU to comply with trade deal or he will increase tariffs
The US President warns that without European compliance by the 250th anniversary of the United States, tariffs will rise above the expected 15 per cent, after negotiations are still ongoing.
Donald Trump gives the European Union until the United States '250th birthday' to comply with the initialled trade agreement: if it does not do so by 4 July, tariffs will 'immediately spike to much higher levels'.
This was stated by the president on his social Truth after a telephone conversation with the president of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.

"I had a very good telephone conversation with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. We discussed many topics, including confirming our total unity in the belief that Iran should never possess a nuclear weapon," Trump reported.
"Apatiently waiting for the EU to honour its part of the historic trade agreement that we signed in Turnberry, Scotland: the biggest trade agreement ever," the president added, stressing that the EU had promised to fulfil its obligations and, in accordance with the agreement, would have to zero its tariffs.
