Turkish Airlines orders 150 Boeing 737 Max aircraft. Trump: ‘A great day for the US’
The Turkish airline has signed an agreement for a major order, with deliveries scheduled between 2033 and 2037
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Turkey’s national airline Turkish Airlines has announced, via a press release, a new order for 150 Boeing 737 Max single-aisle aircraft, comprising 100 firm orders and 50 options. The press release states that ‘deliveries are scheduled between 2033 and 2037’.
The airline serves over 320 destinations worldwide from its hub in Istanbul. In a separate statement, the US aircraft manufacturer specified that negotiations for this contract, relating to its flagship aircraft, began in 2025. “This is a great day for Boeing and for American industry,” commented Donald Trump on his social media platform Truth.
The agreement was signed in the presence of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in New York, the aircraft manufacturer added. The value of the deal has not been disclosed. Specifically, the order comprises 100 Boeing 737 Max 8 and an option for a further 50 from the same family, without, however, specifying a version.
