Ukraine, Zelensky: 'Ready to build missiles, also for Europe'. Italy majority draft: bring Russia to negotiations
Russian attacks struck the Ukrainian cities of Dnipro and Kharkiv overnight, injuring at least 20 people. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Zelensky said that the new round of negotiations had been postponed due to the situation around Iran
"Ensure every diplomatic progress for the achievement of peace in Ukraine, in continuous coordination with the European Union, the United States, NATO and the G7 partners; provide the necessary multidimensional support to the Ukrainian country and population; maintain European pressure on Russia, with the instruments in place, to bring Moscow to sit at the negotiating table and contribute constructively to peace". This is one of the commitments asked of the government by the draft majority resolution in view of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's communications tomorrow in the Senate and the House.
On the ground, meanwhile, Russian attacks struck the Ukrainian cities of Dnipro and Kharkiv during the night, causing at least 20 injuries. This was reported by the Kiev Independent, as emergency teams continue to assess the damage. In Dnipro, Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said 10 people were injured, including a 12-year-old child. Mayor Borys Filatov said that several buildings were damaged.
"As a result of another Russian attack, at least eight multi-storey buildings were damaged. Several hundred windows were shattered,' Filatov reported. Dnipro, Ukraine's fourth largest city with a pre-war population of 968,000, continues to suffer regular Russian missile and drone attacks due to its proximity to the Ukrainian frontline regions, being about 130 kilometres from the combat zones.
In Kharkiv, Russian drones targeted the districts of Industrialnyi and Kholodnohirskyi, injuring about 10 people, including a teenager. The mayor of the city, Ihor Terekhov, said that a Shahed drone attack damaged residential buildings and outbuildings in the Kholodnohirskyi district.
The authorities said that the exact extent of the casualties and damage had yet to be clarified and that rescue operations and damage assessment would continue throughout the morning. The overnight attacks came just days after Russian forces struck a five-storey residential building in Kharkiv with a ballistic missile on 7 March, killing 11 people, including two children, and injuring at least 15 others.
