The results on Chiara Poggi's oropharyngeal swab analysed in the evidentiary accident in the new investigation into the Garlasco crime have arrived. It is learnt that the examinations confirmed that of the five samples, one is that of the medical examiner's assistant who performed the autopsy on the victim in 2007 and the other belongs to an unknown man, unknown 3. The other three are unknown.
The raw data on one of the tampons of the girl, murdered on 13 August 2007, in Garlasco, was reported by the parties' consultants to have been transmitted by Denise Albani, the geneticist appointed by the Pavia gip Daniela Garlaschelli to carry out the unrepeatable technical investigations.
Clarara asked for clarification on swab method
Denise Albani will ask the medical examiner who performed the autopsy on the victim for clarification on how he performed the saliva sampling, why he used gauze that is not sterile and not a swab, and who, if any, was present in the autopsy room besides him and his assistant. The request for enlightenment from Dr. Dario Ballardini will be used to understand whether the unidentified male DNA trace, confirmed by the replica of the tests on the girl's oropharyngeal swab, was the result of contamination.
Data from a first extraction and that speaks of a Y genetic profile but in a very small quantity, which could also be due to 'contamination', of those who handled the gauze with which the material was taken at the time. Indeed, there are those who think that such DNA could belong to a 'contamination' of Dario Ballardini's assistant.
In addition to this, among those remaining and last sampled by Denise Albani there are other traces on which further investigations will have to be carried out.
