Vannacci relaunches on security, new exits of leghisti
The latest to join the ranks of the general was Modena Lega di Modena secretary Guglielmo Golinelli, a former deputy with 18 years of militancy behind him
"We are preparing a package of security measures that will be timely and targeted compared to the rather disappointing ones that have been proposed by the government". Roberto Vannacci, after the confidence in the government voted by the National Future MPs on the Ukraine decree (combined, however, with the no vote on the measure extending military and civil aid to Kiev) continues to press the current majority from the right, within whose perimeter he intends to remain.
The Security Package
The 'futurist' security package should contain additional protections for the forces of law and order compared to the decree recently passed by the government (with the so-called 'criminal shield' in the case of self-defence). There is already a date circled: 4 March. On that day, the Fn bill on the family and remigration should also be presented. Expected in Rome for the occasion is Vannacci himself. The venue is the press room of the Chamber of Deputies, occupied at the end of January by the opposition to prevent CasaPound representatives from presenting the popular bill precisely on remigration. The latter is one of the general's key words.
The remigration
And to remigration, understood as the repatriation not only of irregular immigrants but also of non-integrated ones, Vannacci dedicates a show (for a fee) staged on 15 March in Montecatini Terme.
Vannacci ready to run alone
The goal of the former deputy secretary of the Lega is to stand in the 2027 elections in coalition with the centre-right. But Vannacci knows that the final decision will not depend on him but from the leaders of FdI, Lega and Forza Italia. And to Sky Tg24 he declares himself 'ready to run even alone' if Meloni, Salvini and Tajani decide to keep him out.
The General's 'buying campaign'
Meanwhile, the party's network on the ground is taking shape. More than 100 committees are at work for the launch of the constituent assembly scheduled by the summer. And on 1 March, the Futuro nazionale (National Future) membership campaign kicks off, continuing its 'buying campaign' at the expense of the League. And not only. The latest to pass through the ranks of the general was the secretary of the Modena League Guglielmo Golinelli, a former deputy with 18 years of militancy behind him. The same fate befell Gian Carlo Locarni, deputy provincial secretary in Vercelli and in the Carroccio for more than 20 years. While in the south, Francesco Battista resigned as secretary of the League in Taranto. 'But there are 53 mayors of municipalities with between 10,000 and 25,000 inhabitants and about 300 municipal councillors, from all parties, who have asked to switch to Futuro Nazionale,' explains Massimiliano Simoni, a former Lega councillor in Tuscany and national coordinator of the new party.
