Bmw unveils a dream concept that will not remain as such, as on other occasions, but will give rise to a small series of 70 units. It is called the Speedtop and it is a shooting brake that fuses past, present and future: it is no coincidence that it was unveiled at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, which celebrates the excellence of the past to turn its gaze towards the future of the automobile, not, however, understood as a means of mobility but as a satisfying mix of culture and emotions.

For the 2025 edition of the famous event on Lake Como, BMW has prepared an exclusive study car - designed for limited series production - that reinterprets the highly successful BMW Touring formula.

The Concept Speedtop does this by fusing the elegance of a shooting brake with unique proportions and shares its eye-catching design language with the previous Skytop, which was the star attraction at the Concorso d'Eleganza 2024 and then produced in 50 precious examples. Bmw has confirmed that the Speedtop will be offered to collectors and connoisseurs in a strictly limited series of 70 units.

"A true BMW exudes dynamism and elegance even when stationary,' says Adrian van Hooydonk, head of design at the BMW Group. 'And this is also the case with our new concept car. The Concept Speedtop is characterised above all by its profile. It is unique in the automotive industry. In this way, we have created an exclamation mark for our entire vehicle range, especially for the Touring models'.

The pronounced V-shape of the front end, with its 'shark nose', slim headlamp clusters and illuminated double kidney grille give the Concept Speedtop an unmistakable presence. A raised central 'mark' starts at the bonnet and continues on the roof to the rear spoiler, giving the car an even more dynamic profile despite being a Touring.

On the roof, the colour scheme also changes from Floating Sunstone Maroon to Floating Sundown Silver, with the effect of accentuating its elusive shape. The car's broad shoulders highlight the large wheels with 14-spoke light alloy wheels (designed specifically for the BMW Concept Speedtop.

Strictly two-seater, with space behind the seats intended for a pair of bags designed to recall the shapes and colours of the car, the new concept starring at the Concorso di Villa d'Este 2025 stands out for its richness and harmony even in the interior.

High-quality materials were chosen, with traditional brogue-style detailing (the perforations typical of English shoes) and attention to every detail are a testament to true craftsmanship. The two-tone colour and material concept creates a connection between exterior and interior.

The shimmering brown tone of the Floating Sunstone Maroon exterior paintwork is echoed in the interior. Here, the warm Sundown Maroon shade harmonises with the light Moonstone White of the seats. Two-tone leather upholstery divides the dynamic and functional areas of the interior.

A beam of light illuminates the rear compartment, which is divided into two sections. This allows large luggage to be stowed inside for multi-day trips. And here, too, Speedtop offers bags and cases from Italian specialist Schedoni.

Bmw did not disclose any further technical details of this concept, other than the fact that - perfectly in line with its philosophy of 'evolution of the Bmw tradition' - under the bonnet there will be a petrol V8, 'the most powerful currently in Bmw's offering'.
