Bmw unveils a dream concept that will not remain as such, as on other occasions, but will give rise to a small series of 70 units. It is called the Speedtop and it is a shooting brake that fuses past, present and future: it is no coincidence that it was unveiled at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, which celebrates the excellence of the past to turn its gaze towards the future of the automobile, not, however, understood as a means of mobility but as a satisfying mix of culture and emotions.
For the 2025 edition of the famous event on Lake Como, BMW has prepared an exclusive study car - designed for limited series production - that reinterprets the highly successful BMW Touring formula.
The Concept Speedtop does this by fusing the elegance of a shooting brake with unique proportions and shares its eye-catching design language with the previous Skytop, which was the star attraction at the Concorso d'Eleganza 2024 and then produced in 50 precious examples. Bmw has confirmed that the Speedtop will be offered to collectors and connoisseurs in a strictly limited series of 70 units.
"A true BMW exudes dynamism and elegance even when stationary,' says Adrian van Hooydonk, head of design at the BMW Group. 'And this is also the case with our new concept car. The Concept Speedtop is characterised above all by its profile. It is unique in the automotive industry. In this way, we have created an exclamation mark for our entire vehicle range, especially for the Touring models'.
The pronounced V-shape of the front end, with its 'shark nose', slim headlamp clusters and illuminated double kidney grille give the Concept Speedtop an unmistakable presence. A raised central 'mark' starts at the bonnet and continues on the roof to the rear spoiler, giving the car an even more dynamic profile despite being a Touring.
