Trump then used very harsh language against the Islamic Republic. “Their army is defeated and their economy is in ruins. It’s all over for Iran,” he said.

“The campaign against Iran is far from over and the IDF is ready to strike with great force,” said Defence Minister Israel Katz during the Israel Security Award ceremony. “The Middle East is changing before our very eyes. If Iran attacks Israel, it will suffer a severe blow, just like the one we dealt it a few days ago.”

The US chargé d’affaires is reported to have been summoned to Delhi following the attack on an Indian-crewed oil tanker off the coast of Oman: this is according to several Indian media outlets, including the PTI news agency, which cites its own sources.

Iran: new IAEA resolution requires it to provide full information on its nuclear programme

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Milan, 10 June - The IAEA Board of Governors has approved a resolution in Vienna calling on Iran to provide “all information” regarding the inventory of its nuclear materials and the design of its nuclear facilities. Furthermore, Tehran must grant the International Atomic Energy Agency all necessary access to verify on the ground the declarations provided on nuclear matters. This emerges from the text presented by France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the US and reviewed by AFP. These countries specify that the two measures are “essential and urgent” in order to “verify the absence of diversion of nuclear materials”. The 35-member Council approved the resolution with 21 votes in favour, according to diplomatic sources. Three countries voted against, ten abstained and one did not have the right to vote, again according to the same sources. The fate of over 400 kg of highly enriched uranium, last seen on 10 June 2025 by inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency, remains uncertain.

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul currently sees no reason to impose further sanctions against Israel or individual ministers in the Israeli government. “At present, the federal government believes that our voice is being heard in Israel and that no further measures are necessary,” the CDU politician said during a meeting with his Hungarian counterpart Anita Orban in Berlin. Israeli air strikes in southern Lebanon have killed at least 12 people today, according to a Lebanese medical source, whilst state media have reported Israeli attacks across the south. “The number of martyrs from the Israeli air raids in the town of Tayr Dibba is eight, and in Deir Qanun al-Nahr it is four,” said the source, speaking on condition of anonymity. State media had reported at least four Israeli raids on Tayr Dibba and two on Deir Qanun al-Nahr.

Direct negotiations with Israel are the only way to end the war, Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Raggi said today.

“Hezbollah is doing everything in its power to prevent these direct negotiations. But, for the Lebanese state, for the government, it is the only way to try to resolve the problem in its entirety,” stated Beirut’s foreign minister before the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Lebanese Assembly in Paris. “The so-called resistance led by Hezbollah has not liberated Jerusalem, nor has it been able to save Gaza, let alone defend Lebanon. On the contrary, it has dragged us into even greater violence, into an even more brutal occupation,” he continued, calling for pragmatism and stressing that the military option has “proved its ineffectiveness”.

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have issued evacuation warnings for three villages in southern Lebanon – Ghassaniyeh, Houmine al-Faouqa and Ansariyeh – ahead of Israeli attacks against Hezbollah. Residents of Ghassaniyeh and Houmine al-Faouqa have been asked to move at least one kilometre away. Residents of Ansariyeh have been asked to evacuate north of the Zahrani River.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) say they have struck Hezbollah infrastructure in Tyre and other areas of southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours. In Tyre, according to the army, six Hezbollah sites used by the Shia armed group to launch attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers were struck, including a facility from which explosive drones equipped with infrared cameras were launched.

In other parts of southern Lebanon, the IDF claims to have struck rocket launchers, as well as Hezbollah militants in the areas where they operate.

The United States has undermined the current international diplomatic effort to end the war with further attacks on targets in southern Iran. Iran has announced that it has targeted several military bases in the Gulf in retaliation for Washington’s attacks on Iranian targets along the Strait of Hormuz, in a new flashpoint following the destruction of an American helicopter attributed to Tehran, which triggered the US response.

Iran has reported that it came under US attack overnight in Jask, Sirik and on the island of Qeshm, on Iran’s southern coast, in the area of the Strait of Hormuz, which remains blocked. US Vice-President JD Vance has reiterated the claim that Washington is “very close” to a deal that addresses Iran’s nuclear programme “in the long term”. “I believe we will know much more before the mid-term elections [in November],” he said in an interview with CBS News recorded before the latest attacks. “I think the deal could be reached by next week, but it could also come to fruition in a few months’ time.” “At this point, I believe we are in a position to reach an agreement that is economically beneficial to the United States and that truly addresses Iran’s nuclear programme—not just now, not just during Donald Trump’s presidency, but in the long term—so that my children, when they grow up, can say: ‘Iran will not have nuclear weapons’,” said Vance. “That is the goal of the policy. “The criminal US military must know that, if its aggression continues, Iran will respond with more severe and widespread attacks against designated targets in the region,” the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Command stated in a press release issued this morning. “The Iranian army and the Revolutionary Guards have attacked US bases in the region in response to attacks by the US terrorist army against southern Iran, carried out under the false pretext of retaliation for the downing of an American helicopter,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, the Revolutionary Guards stated in a press release that Iran had launched drone attacks against four targets at the US airbase and its central military command in Al-Azraq, in Jordan, as well as against the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain and the Ali Al Salem airbase in Kuwait at 2.30 am local time, in response to US attacks on Jask, Qeshm, a communications radar and two water tanks in Sirik, which took place this morning. An MQ9 drone was also shot down over the city of Jam, in Bushehr province. In a separate statement, the Revolutionary Guards claimed to have attacked 21 targets at US air and naval bases in the region. US attacks were also reported by local media in Bandar Abbas, Ahvaz, Kuhistak, Minab and Kouh-Mobarakeh, in southern Iran.

Jordan has stated that it shot down five missiles launched from Iran towards an area housing a US air base. Tehran has stated that it targeted the Muwaffaq Salti air base, which is home to American F-35s and other aircraft. The Jordanian state news agency Petra reported that there were no casualties in the attack and that bomb disposal experts had examined the debris from the intercepted missiles.

Iran has also launched attacks against targets in Bahrain and Kuwait. Both countries have sounded the air raid sirens and activated their air defences in response.
