The dynamic Italian quick-service restaurant market will be enriched by 2035 by another 170 fast food outlets under the banner of the American bigwig Wendy's, which has just announced an exclusive franchising agreement with the company Your Food, as part of a broader strategy of European brand expansion. A move that seems to confirm how, despite the current stagnant consumer environment, quick service still represents a segment that is considered to be in the development phase in Italy.
This operation alone is expected to result in the creation of approximately 5,000 new jobs. The first two restaurants are planned for the beginning of 2026 in Milan.
Founded in 1969,The Wendy's Company is listed on the Nasdaq and is considered the third largest hamburger brand in the world, after McDonald's and Burger King. With 7,000 outlets worldwide, it boasts total network sales ('systemwide sales') of $14.5 billion.Your Food, on the other hand, was born in 2025 from the merger of the Resca Group (whose founder Mario Resca also takes on the role of chairman of the group), Gruppo BGenera headed by the Buglisi family, Gruppo Venus headed by Stefano Core and First Capital headed by the Ciacciofera family.
