Xiaomi SU7, the Chinese electric car debuts in Italy. Where to see it live

Xiaomi's electric car arrives in Italy, putting itself on display in Milan until 6 January. Displayed in Piazza Duca D'Aosta, in front of the Central Station, the Xiaomi SU7 Max represents the first model of the future electric range produced by the Chinese hi-tech manufacturer. Announced in 2021 with expected arrival in 2024, the SU7 is part of the $10 billion maxi investment to be spent by 2031 made by Xiaomi to become a car manufacturer as well.

Seen in person, the Xiaomi SU7 confirms a dynamic style despite significant dimensions starting with a length of 4997 mm, a width of 1,963 mm and a height of 1,455 mm. The wheelbase measures an impressive 3,000 mm, anticipating a reference space on board. Three wheel options, 19″, 20″ and 21" with the largest size on Pirelli P Zero tyres. The aerodynamics are excellent, with a Cx of just 0.195 thanks also to solutions like the active rear wing. Nine colours are available. The Adas package is complete, with 11 cameras, lidar and radar.

.Climb aboard and you are welcomed into the Xiaomi ecosystem, making the Su7 one of the first truly connected cars with a long list of devices produced by the Chinese hi-tech manufacturer. In the centre of the dashboard is the large 16.1-inch screen from which to operate the infotainment system based on the Chinese hi-tech manufacturer's proprietary HyperOS operating system. Beneath the large screen is a row of physical buttons, which we also find on the centre tunnel. In addition to the central screen, the SU7 has a digital instrument cluster, head-up display and two monitors for the rear passengers. On the steering wheel several buttons and also two round satellites from which to set the various driving settings. There are also speakers in the headrests. The rear load capacity is ample with 517 litres available, plus 105 litres in the front frunk.
Xiaomi SU7 Max
On the engine front, the top version will feature the SU7 Max powered by the twin-engine HyperEngine V8 with power outputs of up to 495 kW (673 hp) and 838 Nm. Performance is excellent, with a 0-100 km/h sprint covered in just 2.78 seconds and a top speed of 265 km/h. The declared autonomy of 800 km is high thanks to the 101 kWh battery. As for recharging times, using high-power DC sockets, it will take five minutes to recharge 220 km and ten minutes for 390 km.
Suv Xiaomi Yu7
The YU7 SUV, from the official photos released by Xiaomi itself, stands out for its styling strongly inspired by high-performance SUVs such as the Ferrari Purosangue. At 5 metres long and 1.6 metres wide, the YU7 SUV is powered by two engines, one at the front with 220 kW and one at the rear with 288 kW, providing a total power output of 508 kW (681 horsepower), capable of a top speed of 253 km/h.
