Yoox suspends 211 workers' dismissals
The aim is to find shared solutions with the trade unions

Stop the 211 redundancies announced in Italy. This is the decision by e-commerce company Yoox Net à Porter, after on 2 September it announced the decision to cut 20% of the workforce at its Bologna and Milan offices. Cuts - in line with those made in other countries - initially decided in response to the reduction in revenues in the last financial year (-191 million euros) and the accumulation of total losses, amounting to over two billion euros, in the last two years.
Thus, over the past month, several meetings have been held with the trade unions and representatives of the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy. And it is Mimit itself that explains that the company is suspending 'with immediate effect the collective redundancy procedure involving 211 workers, in order to identify solutions shared with the trade unions'.
Solutions that will be discussed in the coming days. Six meetings have been scheduled: 9, 16, 22 and 30 October and 5 and 10 November. On 18 November, the final meeting will be held to report on the outcome of the round of discussions.
'We are finally on the right track,' commented Mimit Minister Adolfo Urso, 'today a new phase is beginning, which I hope will lead, within a reasonable timeframe, to a solution that is shared and therefore acceptable to all parties involved. This is the result of teamwork that shows how, when national and local institutions, trade unions and the company work together, results come".
