Checco Zalone with 'Buen camino' breaks Italian box-office record and challenges 'Avatar'
The Apulian comedian's new film topped the Italian box office, approaching James Cameron's all-time box office record in Italy.
Checco Zalone with 'Buen camino' broke another record: as of yesterday, Monday 12 January, it became the number one Italian film at the box office.
According to yesterday's Cinetel data, 'Buen camino' officially becomes the highest-grossing Italian film ever in our country, reaching a total of 65,689,125 euros and surpassing the record of the Apulian comedian's previous film made with Gennaro Nunziante, 'Quo vado', which had held out for ten years with 65,365,736 euros.
Yesterday's takings of 325,655 euros took the film, distributed by Medusa, to the top of the domestic charts in just 19 days.
Now it remains to take down 'Avatar'.
Technically, the surpassing has already happened, since James Cameron's film in 2009, in a totally different market, had reached €65,680,970.
