The vibrant, contemporary and creative chaos of Phnom Penh

Sightseeing and religious tours by tuk-tuk

I giri artistici e religiosi nella capitale diretti al Pteah Chas si fanno in tuk tuk

You can set off in a tuk-tuk to explore the many temples scattered around the capital. Why not start with Wat Phnom, which stands on a hill just under 30 metres high in the city centre: you climb a flight of steps guarded by lion statues, taking in the scent of the generous bouquets of flowers carried on the shoulders of the faithful, who are happy to recount the legend of the elderly woman who discovered several bronze and brass Buddhas inside a floating log, which were then carried to the top of this hill, where monks later settled and took charge of the temple.  The Wat Krapum Pech temple on the island of Koh Dach is also striking for the colours of the deities, clad in garish robes, who welcome visitors returning from an artistic adventure at Pteah Chas, a dynamic and eclectic arts centre that is highly avant-garde and very popular with young people.
