Between Calabria and Sicily adventures among ripe orange groves

It is like witnessing a Christmas of nature. To take a botanical and cultural journey through the orange groves is, in fact, to be pleasantly surrounded by millions of these now-ripened, tree-ball-like fruits that are decorated in homes. Starting out from the monsoon regions of China and India, citrus fruits too have made a long journey that took them first to Arabia via the Red Sea and from there to Persia and Afghanistan, until they landed in Arab and Norman Sicily and the rest of Southern Italy, where these colourful adventures are set.
