BMW 3 Series – Engines

At launch, the petrol range comprises the 318 and 320, producing 156 and 211 cv respectively, both four-cylinder, rear-wheel-drive models, and the M350 xDrive, the only six-cylinder model: 3 litres, 443 cv in total, 580 Nm and 0–100 in 4.1 seconds. They are all 48-volt mild hybrids with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. In 2027, the M350 will be fitted with the Drift Moment function, which shifts the drive to the rear wheels only. A plug-in hybrid version is also on the way, whilst there is currently no mention of a diesel variant. Production is set to begin at Dingolfing by the end of 2026.
