In February Paris is always worth a getaway
Botanical secrets at the Musée de la Vie romantique garden
An intimate botanical secret in the Nouvelle Athènes district, just a few steps away from the lights and noise of Pigalle, is the garden of the Museum of Romantic Life hidden inside this patrician residence dating back to the early 19th century that has welcomed painters, actors, musicians and writers including the writer George Sand, the composer and pianist Frédéric Chopin, as well as the painter Eugène Delacroix. The seasonal reopening falls on 14 February when one can once again admire the collections gathered by Ary Scheffer consisting of jewellery, miniatures and paintings focusing on the power of feelings. Then you have access to the garden and tea room where you can delight in the whiteness of the trees in winter, while in spring the camellias and later the roses leave you breathless. The conservatory has truly been transformed into the most romantic café in Paris and entrusted to Rose Bakery.
