Caporalato nella moda: Dama Spa commissioned
The Milan Public Prosecutor's Office has ordered the judicial review of Dama spa, a knitwear and clothing production company headed by Andrea Dini, the brother-in-law of the President of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana
Andrea Dini, brother-in-law of the President of Lombardy, Attilio Fontana, in his capacity as CEO of 'Dama Spa' is under investigation by the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office as part of an investigation for 'caporalato' (forced labour). This is stated in the act by which the public prosecutor Paolo Storari ordered the judicial control of Dama itself and 'Aspesi', a well-known fashion brand.
The charge against the company with 107 million revenue per year, 5.6 million profit and 309 employees, 130 of whom are workers, under investigation under the Corporate Liability Act, is the 'exploitation' of Chinese labour in a 'state of need' employed 7 days a week from 8am to 10pm at night in garment production.
Attilio Fontana: instrumental in approaching my brother-in-law
"Ask my brother-in-law' who 'will certainly prove his innocence as he has done in previous episodes in which he has been involved. I wonder about the instrumentality of the question and the pairing of my name with that of Dr. Dini, who is the owner of the company in which I have no part'. Thus the president of the Lombardy Region, Attilio Fontana, on the caporalato investigation against his brother-in-law Andrea Dini. 'I take note of the fact that rather than knowing things,' he added, speaking to reporters at Palazzo Lombardia, 'you always want to try to put a pinch of poison'.
