Bruges: the 'winter glow' guides along a secret route

Until 4 January next, Bruges lights up with a special light. The so-called 'winter glow', with its path of a dozen or so light installations, guides visitors through a secret itinerary through hidden and unexpected places. Each installation leads through a multi-sensory experience. Next to fairy-tale Bruges, there is a city that gathers contemporary influences and looks to the future. A winter stopover in this city is an opportunity to discover, for example, the Concertgebouw (concert hall) and to savour the atmosphere of innovation that will find its materialisation in the Brusk project in 2026, an art centre that represents an important step towards a new site: the city's Museum Quarter. Bruges cannot be described in a few typical attractions, because it represents the romantic city par excellence, enigmatic and fascinating at the same time. One only has to walk through the historic centre, a Unesco World Heritage Site, to realise this, with its cobbled alleyways winding between ancient buildings and the network of small canals branching out through a truly well-preserved heritage. The original street pattern has remained almost intact and the skyline is still intact.
