Tutta la bellezza di Maratea e della costa tirrenica lucana
Vertiginous, beautiful coast road 18 between Cersuta and Acquafredda
They call these gentle curves that cradle the most vertiginous and exciting on-the-road along the southern Tyrrhenian. While waiting for the landslide that blocked the coastal link between Castrocucco and the Calabrian coast to be permanently removed - soon the alternating use of a single carriageway will resume, at well-defined times - we dedicate ourselves with great satisfaction to discovering the inlets between wind-sculpted rocks and spectacular cliffs, starting from the beach at Santa Teresa and Porticello at Marina di Maratea where the water is turquoise. Travelling towards Cersuta, one experiences the thrill of walking above the sky, leaning out from the transparent dome-shaped belvedere of the Skywalk, built next to the old coastal road, and then having lunch at Da Cesare while gazing at the Tyrrhenian Sea: going down the panoramic walkway that skirts the bays of this hamlet means immersing oneself in the scents of its spectacular pine forest. From there on, the coastal road State Road 18 tapers off and, above all, reaches portentous heights up to the hamlet of Acquafredda where, in this season, one can be the only one to enjoy the pleasantness of lying on Marizza beach. Then, a little further on, it will already be Campania.
