Costs, bureaucracy and above all an excess of compliance. This is the perception of the word sustainability in the business world, not only in Italy. A tangle of regulations to comply with and consultancy costs. So much so that in Brussels, the von der Leyen Commission is about to give a decisive chop to green directives and regulations.
Right? Wrong? The fact is that despite the number of regulations, there are Italian companies that have resolutely embarked on the road to sustainability without backtracking.
The prize
.To highlight perseverance on the sustainability front, an award was presented to six companies of the Milan Stock Exchange that have participated for at least two consecutive years, in the last three years, in the Esg Observatory on companies listed on Piazza Affari, realised by the Study Centre of Il Sole 24 Ore and the editorial staff of Plus24.
The awards were presented as part of the web event 'Sustainability 2.0: a perspective beyond standards'.
The companies were awarded on the basis of a ranking based on the average of three indicators, developed by the Bicocca University of Milan: Awareness, Monitoring and Governance, which are calculated through a series of answers regarding the policies and strategies adopted in terms of Environment, Social and Corporate Management.
