Muggia offers a journey through the sea and local traditions, through narrow streets and picturesque views: the tour begins at the harbour, the beating heart of local life, and continues through narrow streets, squares and vistas that reveal the village’s Venetian soul, amongst colourful buildings and corners steeped in history, before climbing up to the majestic 14th-century castle (mark 16 and 23 August in your diary). In Valvasone, Saturday 26 September offers an opportunity to visit the enchanting village with its castle – guardian of centuries of history linked to the local nobility – and to wander through the cobbled streets of the historic centre, taking in picturesque views, as part of the ‘Splendours and Flavours of Valvasone’ event. Starting from the castle, the route continues to showcase the village’s historical and architectural heritage, and a stroll through the narrow streets of the historic centre leads to the Borgo delle Oche wine cellar. Spilimbergo, a village of art and water, will offer the chance to visit this place – where history and water intertwine amongst ancient residences and charming views – on various dates in September: from Palazzo di Sopra to the property’s outdoor areas, including the Italian-style garden and the panoramic viewpoint offering evocative views of the village and its irrigation channels, before continuing into the heart of the village until reaching the Mulino di Mezzo, a historic testament to the local manufacturing tradition. Finally, Polcenigo: from September onwards, the village will take centre stage in a new programme of cultural tours and walking trails, which will guide visitors as they discover its extraordinary historical and natural heritage. From the historic centre, the route will wind its way past the medieval castle, the elegant stately homes, the churches and the most picturesque corners of the village, which lies on the banks of the River Livenza, offering an experience that seamlessly blends history, walking and stunning scenery.
