From culture to critical raw materials, 7 bilateral agreements between Italy and Germany
Shared projects with the aim of fostering collaboration between innovation ecosystems and supporting the development of start-ups
From culture to research, from industrial innovation to agriculture, up to transport and critical raw materials. On the occasion of the Italy-Germany intergovernmental summit at Villa Pamphilj, the governments of the two countries exchanged seven bilateral understandings with the aim of strengthening cooperation in key sectors.
Cultura
On the cultural front, a joint Memorandum of Understanding was signed for the 'Mazzucchetti-Gschwend' Prize, aimed at intensifying cultural exchange through the promotion of translations of literary works into the languages of the two countries. The agreement was exchanged by Culture Minister Alessandro Giuli, Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media Wolfram Weimer and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani. Also in the cultural sphere, Italy and Germany signed a Declaration of Intent to implement the 'Goethe Cultural Route in Italy' project, which aims to enhance the places of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's Italian journey in a contemporary key. The project envisages the creation of a playful-educational application dedicated to the stages of the itinerary and an exhibition on the German writer's influence on Italian literature and art. The agreement was exchanged by the Ministers of Culture Giuli and Weimer.
Research and Innovation
A Declaration of Intent on bilateral cooperation in research, development, and innovation was signed by the Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, Invitalia CEO Bernardo Mattarella, and Federal Minister of Economy and Energy Katherina Reiche, with the aim of fostering collaboration between innovation ecosystems and supporting the development of start-ups.
Critical raw materials
In the field of critical raw materials, Urso and Reiche also exchanged a joint statement to establish a structured collaboration between the Strategic Fund for Made in Italy and the German Fund for Critical Raw Materials, strengthening the security of European supply chains and industrial resilience.
Agricoltura
Space was also given to agriculture and sustainability, with the signing of a Declaration of Intent on strategic cooperation for the sustainable development of the algae sector, which is considered emerging and has high potential. The agreement was exchanged by Agriculture Minister Francesco Lollobrigida and Federal Minister Alois Rainer.
