Itinerary from Belo Horizonte in Minas Gerais between nature and colonial cities

5/5Great Journeys

In the fazenda of coffee and wine of Italian origin

Its perfume will linger in your nostrils for a long time after spending three days along the most exciting Coffee Route in the whole of Brazil, which is concentrated in the cities of Patrocínio, Monte Carmelo and Patos de Minas in the area known as Cerrado Mineiro, taking part in a real circuit that unites the various farms with tours, tasting workshops, visits to the plantations, participation in preparation practices, lunch and tastings that enhance the cuisine of Minas Gerais. The initial taste can be the fazenda Bom Jardim in the Garça region, managed for several generations by the Lorenzetti Losasso family, who started growing Arabica quality coffee in 1942 with José Antônio Lorenzetti: tastings can be made on this farm located at an altitude of 650 metres amidst a landscape of lush vegetation, listening to the adventurous stories of the ancestors. Also at the Fazenda Rainha da Paz, one is impressed by the landscape and the descriptions that the Montanari family members make of their café, also organising excursions among its plants, breakfasts and aperitifs. Finally, at Casa Bruxel, they also specialise in oenology, so sitting at their tables, especially Sauvignon, one toasts to the whole of Minas Gerais.
