Inside the Tamul Waterfall and the Cueva del Agua

La Cascata di Tamul

A visit to the Tamul Waterfall in the municipality of Aquismón is a must. It is located at the confluence of the Gallinas and Santa María rivers, which in turn give rise to the course of the Tampaón. This vertical, swirling jet of water, often framed by an arc of colours, starts at an altitude of 105 metres and expands for 300 metres. To access it, one must proceed along a challenging uphill path, which includes stops at the Tamul camp, where fresh fish is eaten. One can test oneself by kayaking along routes of varying difficulty, or even abseiling with a rope, single or double, from the waterfall itself, a descent sprinkled with cool breezes and standing inside rainbows. Not far away is the Cueva del Agua where one can swim and admire the skylight made of stalactites and stalagmites at the same time.
