Last chance to vote on the new euro banknotes: Lagarde’s appeal
The European Central Bank is inviting members of the public to give their views on the design of future euro banknotes by the end of today.
Today Monday 21 September 2026 the survey organised by the European Central Bank will close, in which members of the public have been invited to give their views on the design of the future series of euro banknotes.
“You still have a chance to have your say,” said President Christine Lagarde last Friday at the press conference following the Eurogroup meeting.

Over nine million European citizens have cast their votes,
The winning design will be chosen by the Governing Council of the European Central Bank at the end of 2026, following a consultation with European citizens, who can now vote for their favourite design directly on the ECB’s website.
