Naples awarded 'Best LibertyCity 2025': Italian Art Nouveau excellence

The national cultural association Italia Liberty has awarded the City of Naples the 'Best LibertyCity' honour for the year 2025, a prestigious award that recognises the Italian city that best preserves and promotes its Liberty-style heritage.

The prize, now in its tenth edition, was awarded by President Andrea Speziali to the City of Naples in the person of Mayor Gaetano Manfredi for the exceptional artistic value of the buildings and for the institutional commitment to the protection and enhancement of this historical-artistic heritage.

Naples has distinguished itself for the quality of its Art Nouveau masterpieces in the Chiaia, Vomero and Posillipo districts, such as Palazzo Mannajuoli and Palazzina Velardi, and for the cultural promotion activities carried out in recent years, also through collaborations with public and private entities.

'This recognition is a source of great pride for Naples. Art Nouveau represents an important part of our cultural and architectural identity. We will continue to work to protect and enhance this heritage, making it more accessible and better known, also through initiatives that involve citizens and tourists," emphasised Neapolitan mayor Gaetano Manfredi.
