On the Alpine glaciers in search of the last snow that gives excitement
Even in the Alps, the appointment with snow is no longer a certainty as it was in the past, and often becomes a pleasure to be pursued at high altitudes, well over two thousand metres. And so the glaciers, once the cradle of summer skiing, become the protagonists not only of the 'pre-season' (also as a training venue for professional athletes) but also of the last part of the winter season, the one that embraces spring and extends until the end of April or even the beginning of May. If in the valley bottoms the temperatures open up to outdoor activities without skis and boots on your feet, on the slopes on the three-thousand-metre high slopes you can still savour the adrenaline of a descent on natural snow and with postcard views. From France to Switzerland, from Alto Adige to the Tyrol, here are five ski resorts where winter, at least for now, continues to hold out, still offering thrills.
